When we found out we were pregnant with baby #3, I decided this would be the time we would wait to find out the gender until the baby was born. Why not, right? It’s the last time I plan to be pregnant (although I do reserve the right to change my mind, just in case) so I thought it would be fun. But my husband and older son Charlie wore me down. They both wanted to know as soon as we could. So I caved. Instead, we decided to do a fun little gender reveal with just our little family, at the place where we celebrate most of our family moments. It was simple and sweet and us. So without further adieu, here is our little gender reveal, photographed by Hazelnut Photography and filmed by SparkStory.
It’s really too bad we can’t get Charlie to come out of his shell 🙂
Milk Jar Cookies was sweet enough to agree to bake up a batch of cookies with either pink or blue sprinkles. I had my doctor put our gender results in a sealed envelope, which I delivered to Milk Jar (without peeking!) They made our cookies, boxed them up, and we let Charlie open them for the big reveal…
My reaction is very “welcome to Crazytown, population me + 4 boys in one house” but Charlie’s reaction (despite wanting a sister) was just priceless and heart melting. “I can’t believe we’re gonna have another boy!” And now that the news has sunk in, I’m pretty excited to add another boy to our brood.
Calvin didn’t really understand what was happening, but he was pretty pumped to have his first sampling of sugar. Mostly in the form of a few blue sprinkles.
And if you haven’t gotten enough yet, SparkStory filmed the whole shebang and edited this wonderful little film for us, which I’m so glad we have. The moment was such a blur (as the best moments often are, which is why they should totally be documented) and I didn’t even see Charlie’s reaction at the time of the reveal. So this film brought me to tears and is such a treasure.

Weddings, gender reveals, births, everyday moments — having a great photographer and filmmaker to capture those is such a great decision and investment. If you’re in the So Cal area, I can’t recommend either of these talents enough! A huge thank you to Jordana of Hazelnut Photography, Joe of SparkStory, and to Courtney and all of the crew at Milk Jar Cookies for making this such a special moment for our family and capturing it perfectly. Team blue 🙂

I just had my 4th boy, and I absolutely love having a house full of boys (and seeing the reactions from people as we travel around). My boys are 11, 8, almost 2 and 8 weeks. Life is crazy, but absolutely amazing!
Congratulations Chandra – your boys are absolutely precious and you look gorgeous and glowing!!!

Congrats!! I have two boys and I’m convinced if I have a third it will be a boy. My mother in law had 5 boys and she survived lol!
