When I was a little girl my mom fixed my hair EVERY day.  Very often you could find me with two french braids, one on each side.  As I got older that turned into one pretty french braid.  She could even do this snake french braid that twisted down the back of my head.  Or she would do it starting at the base of my neck and working up so I had a high ponytail at the top.  She could basically braid me every which way possible.  She was good at doing hair.  Maybe that is why I love the fishtail braid look.  That, and as a mom with very little time to spend on myself in the morning, I think it would be a fun way to try to look cute and be a little fresher than my “bun on top of head” look.

Fishtail braids can be more than a dressed down ‘do.  You could totally do them for wedding hair, ala Blake Lively above.  Having a backyard, laid back, or boho wedding?  Wear your hair down with one or two small fishtail braids for a fresh young look.  If you do, please send photos because I’m kind of obsessed with the idea!
The only problem with fishtail braids is, I DON’T HAVE A CLUE HOW TO DO THEM!  Until now, thanks to this handy little video.  So, I’m sharing it with you so we can all walk around pretending we’re Blake Lively with our fishtail braids.  Fishtail braids can totally take off 30 lbs, add about 5 inches in height, and make you glowingly gorgeous, right?  Like MAGIC braids 🙂  A girl can dream…
