Now that summer is on the horizon and we’re done with winter weather, I’m feeling lighter and happier. It’s funny how much weather can effect our mood and overall outlook isn’t it? I find myself enjoying the simple things so much more and having more gratitude in my day-to-day. It got me thinking: what does a “perfect” day look like to me? And the answer is so simple but true: hanging with my family in our backyard, doing some gardening while my kids play, eating a meal outside, and having a glass of Day Owl Rosé with my husband on our deck.
For so many years that we lived in Los Angeles, I dreamed of living in a house with a fenced in backyard and a deck where we can spend time as a family. So to now own our home with a big fenced-in backyard is a dream come true. And we recently finished our deck, so I’m now out there every chance I get just enjoying that time and soaking it up and feeling a lot of gratitude. I’ve discovered that I love to garden and tend to the flowers I’ve planted in our backyard. I love hearing my children play, and even when they fight, it is wonderful to see them enjoy having that space to run around and just be kids. We love to turn on music (the kids ask Alexa to play songs they want to hear) and just spend time outside. I also really appreciate the chance to spend a few minutes just sitting with my husband and chatting and watching our kids play. It is nice to be able to connect during the day, rather than having to wait until our kids are in bed and we’re too tired to make an effort. One way we do this is by sitting together on the deck with a glass of Day Owl rosé and just being together.
If you love rosé (and who doesn’t?) then Day Owl is a must-try. It is everything I love in a rosé: It is a crisp, fruit-forward, California rosé, and has notes of floral red fruit and orange zest. It has flavors of dark cherry, dried strawberry, plum, lavender and vanilla. It is the perfect refreshing beverage on a summer day, either on its own or as part of a rosé cocktail or a frosé (basically a frozen, blended rosé that is delicious!). We have a bar cart on our deck and I love to serve from it, even if it is just my husband and me. We fancy like that 🙂
Even though every day is a great day for rosé in my book, June 9th is National Rosé Day. We’ll be celebrating with the simple pleasures of backyard picnics and a rosé cocktail for the adults. How will you celebrate?
