Today we’ve got a sweet little DIY that is perfect for any party or event, big or small. My favorite online wedding marketplace, Your Cloud Parade teamed up with one of their shops, Typologie and Co, to bring Oh Lovely Day this cute DIY cake topper. It is simple and so pretty.
What you’ll need: scissors, bamboo skewers, different shades of ribbon to get the ombré effect, and a cake, of course!
First, cut several 14 inch strips of ribbon in each color. You’ll need enough to tie across your cake.
While alternating colors, tie each ribbon across one ribbon (the base of the garland) using a crow hitch knot (shown above).
Carefully cinch each knot going in the same direction across the base ribbon until you get all the way across.
Once complete, insert your skewers into the cake, letting the ribbon hang free.
Then trim the ribbon to your desired length, and you’re done!
Don’t you love how sweet and simple this is? Many thanks again to Your Cloud Parade and Typologie and Co for sending this our way!
So creative + festive!
So cute! Such a fun and easy detail to make your cake unique!
