Some of you may have your own little ones to shop for, or you have friends or siblings with newer kiddos. Or you just may want to pin this for later when you are planning to start a family. Either way, I thought sharing Charlie’s favorite things would help you buy for the littles in your life. These work for both boys and girls!
1. When a baby is too little to care about anything more than sleep and the boob, these aden + anais swaddle blankets are a perfect gift. They are soft, super cute, and the best for swaddling hands down. / 2. Charlie was given this giraffe lovie when he was born, and he loves it still. It is small enough to take anywhere and not worry about being a smothering concern, so soft, and adorable. / 3. Charlie’s favorite board books when he was a baby, and still a favorite for his potty reading are any of the Sandra Boynton books. His top favorites: Moo, Baa, La La La, The Going to Bed Book, Tickle Time, and Happy Hippo, Angry Duck. / 4. These cups from Green Sprouts are the best thing I ever bought. They are stackable & nesting, don’t hurt anything when thrown, and are under $6. One of Charlie’s most played with toys. / 5. Similarly, the Tower of Babble stacking blocks from Land of Nod have been a favorite for a year. They also stack, nest, are light, and have fun pictures, numbers, and letters for learning during play. / 6. Once Charlie graduated from board books he started to love books with a sense of humor. My top three picks are: Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, I Want My Hat Back, and Dragons Love Tacos (all were gifts). / 7. Every little needs a ride-on toy. This one is great for pushing, riding, and hauling favorite toys. / 8. Charlie’s biggest obsession in the last year has been bath letters. He loves letters, takes one everywhere, and knows the entire alphabet from playing with them – another simple and cheap toy for learning and fun. / 9. The lego duplo starter set is perfect for little hands and minds. Charlie loves these. (Make sure you buy the Duplo larger size legos, and not the tiny ones which are a choking hazard for littles).
Now Charlie is also obsessed (that’s putting it mildly) with all cars, trains, construction vehicles, airplanes, and helicopters. But I wanted to pick ideas that work for boys and girls alike, and while girls might like them too I thought vehicles were more boy-oriented.
What is your child’s favorite possession? What is your favorite gift to buy littles?
Tomorrow I’m sharing my own wishlist (in case you need more gift ideas for her) so if you’re reading this Santa, come back tomorrow!
