Summer usually brings out bright and cheery inspiration board color palettes, but today’s board is a bit more dramatic. I think it is a reflection of how I’ve been feeling lately, hence the moody blues post title. I’ve been dealing with an illness for a while that was finally diagnosed. You would think that knowing what has been making me fatigued, sluggish, depressed, fat, have milk supply issues, and sick would make me feel better. But the diagnosis, while definitely NOT the worst thing, has left me a little blue. Turns out I have been suffering from postpartum thyroiditis (and if you’re keeping track of the postpartum part you know that it has been almost 8 months since I had the baby) which has now developed into hypothyroidism. I’m glad to know all those things I’ve been dealing with aren’t just the way life is after a baby, which is sort of what I thought for a while, but I’m also frustrated it has gone on for so long and is going to be an uphill battle, and possibly take lifelong medication to feel better. I know this blog is about lovely and pretty things and wedding inspiration, but first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby carriage and postpartum thyroiditis, so you need to know this. Life isn’t always lovely and pretty, right? Plus, I feel like venting.
There are a lot of things I wish someone had told me before I had a baby. A LOT. Not so I wouldn’t have one, but just so I could have mentally prepared myself a bit more. Maybe there should be a blog devoted entirely to things people won’t but should tell you about having a baby… So anyways, I am trying to see the upside to the situation (besides my adorable son’s smiling face and the millions I’m going to make from the line of T-shirts that say “I’m not fat, I have a thyroid disorder!”). Really long story short, that’s why I made this board. To turn my moody blues into something that is pretty and inspiring.
So I hope this inspires you to turn whatever has you moody and blue into something beautiful! Thanks for listening internet- sometimes venting can make you feel so much better.
