{It’s in the Details} Succulent Chic

Living in So Cal, succulents have become a staple in my attempts at “gardening” (a.k.a. two small window boxes).  They are easy to take care of and require little maintenance or water, and are always visually pleasing.

Succulents are being seen more and more in weddings and from these photos it is easy to see why.

{Inspiration Board} Vintage Elegance with Pops of Color

While doing several drafts of an inspiration board for a client this week, I created the board below, and while it isn’t the one the client was looking for, it is the one I am the most drawn to.  I love the color palette: the combination of muted gray, ivory, light yellow and light blue, mixed with pops of brighter yellow and aqua.  The lace and milk glass bring a vintage feel, but the color palette is more modern and whimsical.  I would love to see this inspiration board brought to life in an elegant ballroom wedding or a fun tented country club event…

{Inspired by} Pillows

I am in the market for some throw pillows and wanted something different and quirky but still in keeping with the style of my living room.  I decided to look on Etsy to start, and I ended up spending hours looking at pillows.  Who knew you could find so many cool pillows on Etsy!  I can’t decide which to buy now, because I will never be able to explain why I need 9 throw pillows to my husband or my couch.  But seriously. . . how cute are each one of these?

Pillows available from the following Etsy sellers:

{Inspiration Board} Down the Rabbit Hole

One of my favorite stories as a child was Alice in Wonderland.  Food and drink that makes you grow big or small, a hookah-smoking caterpillar, a rabbit that is always late, not to mention a cheshire cat (what exactly IS a cheshire cat?), and celebrating un-birthdays…what’s not to love!?  So needless to say, I am giddy to an embarrassing degree about the new Tim Burton film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland (out 3/5 in 3D…Hello!!!).  I’m sure it will be a tribute to the “curiouser and curiouser.”

In anticipation, I thought an inspiration board would be fun.  I have to admit I started seeing a couple on other blogs after I had decided to make one, but that will not deter my Alice spirit!

I also love this 2003 Vogue Alice in Wonderland fashion editorial shoot by the incredible Annie Leibovitz.  If this is what happens when you go down the rabbit hole, someone push me!

{Inspired by} Vintage Keys

Remember my post on vintage keys last week?  Well, I’ve found the perfect stationery suite to use in your key-themed wedding.

I mean seriously…how perfect are these invitations from Betsy White?

I am also just a little bit obsessed with these adorable notebooks and weekly planners from Pretty Chic, and just bought the gold key set for myself.  I think a set would make a great thank you gift for a reader or special vendor, or part of bridesmaids gifts.  There are some other amazing patterns and styles as well (I was torn between the keys set and the blue geometric set myself).

And what about these new decorative antique keys from Pottery Barn!  I have to confess I just bought a set of these for myself also.

Can you tell I love antique keys yet?
