This wedding is such a cheery breath of fresh air.  From the vibrant pink and green color palette to the sweet DIY details, it is fun, whimsical, and doesn’t take itself too seriously.  It just screams cheer and fun to me.  And the cool Chuck Taylors the bride changed into for the reception only reinforce that this bride planned on dancing!

From the fantastic photographer, Jenny Evelyn:

Emilee and John’s vintage garden wedding was a DIY dream. From her beautiful handmade bouquets and boutonnieres to the adorable thumbprint guest books, Emilee found the cutest things on Etsy! And then she even made the table cloths, runners and table arrangements herself! In addition to all the DIY cuteness, Emilee and John also included so many personal touches. Their friend officiated the wedding ceremony and they included a traditional Irish handfasting ceremony. The bride and bridesmaid changed from their ceremony heels to matching Chuck Taylors for the reception so they could dance the night away. It was adorable from beginning to end!

Love those Etsy and DIY details and that the couple made their wedding so personal to them.  It is so fun when a friend of the couple officiates the ceremony!  Have any of you had someone close to you officiate?  My husband and I almost did, but our parents thought it was a little strange (they hadn’t really heard of it before) so we decided against it, but now I wish we had stuck to our guts and had a close friend marry us.  I’d love to hear stories from those of you who did in the comments!
